Below are links to resources to support immigrant / undocumented students, staff and faculty.  The first three sections are organized geographically, with our Los Rios Supports at the top of this page.  If you are a faculty member who has questions about any of our contractual immigration protections please contact union representatives.  

CALIFORNIA FEDERATION OF TEACHERS 

The CFT (our statewide affiliate) has created a resource page that provides info on how unions can strengthen their immigrant worker protections and a family Preparedness Checklist.  They also provide information from California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s Office.

California Rapid Response Network : Provides links to immigration rapid response networks throughout California 

Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights Los Angeles (CHIRLA) provides a number of different resources (in person and online) for immigrants. This includes legalization workshops, KYR workshops, legal services, and relief services.  That are also the legal service providers for numerous community college and CSU campuses. 

ILRC Know Your Rights Cards – Organizations can order cards or use the printable templates at the bottom of the pages.  These cards are translated into 14 different languages. 

The National Immigration Law Center has a repository of general information that can help immigrants understand their rights.  Embedded within the website are translations in Spanish of some of their fact sheets. https://www.nilc.org/resources/

 

COMMUNITY RESOURCES CONTINUED

Immigrants Rising provides a wealth of resources related to higher education, financial aid, and mental health and well-being.   

Immigration Legal Services Providers. The nonprofit organizations on this list provide consultations and direct legal services to immigrants who reside in the state of California.

Opening Doors,Inc in Sacramento provides in person and virtual workshops, legal services for immigrants and refugees.   

Pathway For Immigrant Workers also offers free immigration consultations nationwide for immigrant workers with DACA, TPS or Asylum to explore employer sponsored visas.

UndocuBlack Network  A network fighting to create space for currently and formerly undocumented Black immigrants to not only survive but thrive. Their website provides videos, workshops, reports that help understand the intersection of Black Identity and the immigrant experience.
